Overview
This graduate development programme is made up of the following:
Skills Assessment Centre
The first step is to assess each graduate’s strengths and development areas to tailor the programme to their needs. The Tailored Learning Paths will create personalised plans that acknowledge individual strengths and learning styles. Research shows Gen Z values personalised learning, but employers and educators have been slow to use technology to offer customised experiences that allow graduates to learn at their own pace and according to their needs.
Skills Development Essentials
It’s important to recognise that all graduates share certain skills and experiences as they enter the workforce. The Skills Development Essentials element focuses on building professional self-awareness, career navigation, goal setting, resilience, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving. Underpinned by adult learning theory, this section aims to foster a mindset of continuous learning, adaptability, critical thinking, and collaboration, both individually and within the cohort. Additionally, the Future Skills stream will expand graduates’ exposure to AI, sustainable professional behaviours, senior leader interviews, and inclusive leadership.
Business Projects
Real-life business projects effectively consolidate learning by challenging graduates to tackle relevant topics for their organisation. For example, a project on community involvement and corporate social responsibility can provide both organisational and social benefits, with graduates applying their skills and expertise as internal consultants.
Assessment and Feedback
Today’s graduates value regular feedback on their skill development, and this programme will provide detailed insights into their strengths and areas for improvement. To enhance the individualised experience, one-on-one developmental coaching will be central. Participating organisations can further strengthen this by implementing mentorship programmes, where graduates gain guidance and support from experienced professionals. Mentors don’t have to be senior leaders; in fact, graduates often benefit from role models with 3-5 years’ more experience, who have a closer understanding of their day-to-day context.
