Case Study: Organisation Design at a Membership Association

Changing expectations around perceived value has meant falling UK membership numbers while international membership is growing. This not-for-profit organisation is in the midst of a change and transformation programme expected to bring significant efficiencies as a result of process improvements and increased use of technology.

The governing Board requested an independent external review of strategic resourcing following requests from the executive leaders for significant growth in permanent staff headcount.

With a tight deadline before the next Board meeting, a Roffey Park consultant carried out a series of focused interviews and reviewed a large quantity of strategy, performance, plans and policy documentation. The result was a report clearly identifying the current situation, root causes, future predictions and advising a range of options for the Board to consider.
